'The Beckoning'
'The Beckoning'
There was a sense for me in this painting of the figure being confined in some way and wanting to escape. Peering through a window maybe. Looking outwards towards some indefinable thing that is beckoning, enticing.
Acrylic on cradled wooden panel with image transfer and *asemic writing created using red carbon paper. The transferred images of the trees are taken from a photograph of another painting (‘Synthesis’).
Framed in a bespoke oak tray frame. Painting size is 30cm x 30cm, total size 34cm x 34cm.
Gloss varnished and fitted with hanging hardware.
*Asemic writing is using lines and symbols that look like writing but don’t have any actual meaning. For me it has great visual appeal and I enjoy the ambiguity it creates.
